Syed Zomma Mohiuddin is the President & CEO of Telecom Foundation, where is has been leading a complete transformation of the organization and its subsidiaries. With an MBA from Oxford University and a Masters in Radio & Communications engineering from Kings College London. Mr. Mohiuddin brings over 25 years of global technology, ICT and strategic management experience, including engineering the world’s first GSM 1800 cellular network (Cable & Wireless UK), the world’s 2nd GSM dual band cellular network (Nokia Networks AG, Switzerland) and Pakistan’s first 4G wireless digital multi-channel TV network (DWN). He was the founding head of the Corporate Strategy as well as the Multimedia & Broadband departments in PTCL that conceived, planned, deployed and marketed the broadband and IPTV business in PTCL, thereby leading the transformation of PTCL from a phone company to a multimedia company. PTCL under his leadership of the Multimedia and Broadband department, captured over 90% of the country's market share for internet broadband, thereby making it the largest broadband service provider in the country and turning the company around in the process. Mr. Mohiuddin was awarded the PTCL ‘presidential performance’ award in 2010 as head of the company’s broadband business group, one of the top Business Development ‘Honorarium’ awards in 2003-04, as well as being the lead author of the official first broadband policy of Pakistan (Ministry of IT & Telecom, Govt of Pakistan), within 5 years of which, the broadband subscribers went from 50k (built up in 5 years preceding the policy) to over 1 m.
Having a BEng (Hons) degree in Electrical and Electronic engineering from Leicester University UK as well as the Professional Chartered Engineer UK (CEng) status, on account of his long standing professional achievements and contribution in the field of engineering technology and management, Mr. Mohiuddin has been invited as a key note speaker by various management forums, including the IPTV world forum Asia, SAMENA (South Asia Middle East North Africa) Telecommunications Council summit and the ITCN (Information Technology Conference Network). Mr. Mohiuddin has also been elected in the top bracket of the world’s most prestigious professional bodies, including:Brigadier Syed Zulfiqar Ali is currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Pak Datacom since 5 Aug 2020. Has an apt experience of IT and Telecommunications, Management and Business Development, both in Government and Corporate Sector. Junaid Imam is leading the Digital Transformation agenda in the federal Govt as Member IT in Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MOITT). He has an academic background in the field of electronics and digital signal processing with over 25 Years of broad-based experience with digital technologies while working in Asia and Europe. He has done some pioneering work in Pakistan in the field of embedded system development, Optical network design and development of national digital policies.
Junaid’s pioneering work includes:Ms. Rubina Safeer is a Civil Servant of 1984 batch. She belongs to ACCOUNTS Services of Pakistan and holds over 40 years of experience in working as Gazzetted Government Officer of Government of Pakistan. She started her career as BPS-17 in Accountant General Pakistan and retired as Member Finance (BPS-21). Throughout her career she served, lead and managed Accounting and Finance departments/divisions of estate owned institutions like PT&T, PARC, AGPR, NESCOM, NDC, FBISE. She possesses almost 40 years of rich experience in Audit, Finance and Accounting disciplines. She got trainings during her career in Audit and Accounts Training Institute Lahore, IBA Karachi, NIM Peshawar and NIM Lahore, Finance and Accounts Institute Quetta, Performance Audit wing Lahore of AGP and Pakistan Computers Bureau Islamabad.
Former EVP PTCL, M. Sc. Engg (Elect.), MBA (Executive), LLB Mr. Khan holds Professional Experience spread over 33 years in the fields of IT and Telecom, Infrastructure Development, Projects and network operation and maintenance. He holds 20 Years of experience working as Director in PTCL and leading its various departments. With outstanding career track record in one of the most reputable and prestigious organization the PTCL Group, Pakistan, he was Rated as Key talent for professional contribution for the organization and elevated up to the rank of EVP (BPS-21). Above and beyond various senior management and organizational trainings he also holds Director Training Program Certification from IBA Karachi. Mr. Perwaiz Khan also Headed Telecom Foundation as its Managing Director for two years.
Muhammad Waheed, Esq. is a dual qualified lawyer. He is a barrister of England and Wales and an advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan. He specializes in company law and constitutional law and has significant experience in the field of tax law (federal, provincial and local), competition law, property law, family law, and asylum and immigration law. In addition to being a lawyer, he is also an ADR Group certified civil and commercial mediator and a certified director of the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance.
Qualifications:Mr. Shamim Ahmed Sherazi holds a Master’s Degree in Economics. He joined Civil Services of Pakistan through Central Superior Services (CSS) examination in 1984. Mr. Shamim Ahmed Sherazi as a BS-21 Gazzetted Officer of Government of Pakistan has served with different Federal Government Departments during his 32 years on important key positions. He has been holding the post of Senior Joint Secretary ministry of Law and Justice in Secretariat group, Managing Director Planning, Admin/HR and Advisory with Pakistan Railways and other State Owned Institutions like Karachi Urban Transport Corporation and Karachi Port Trust. He has more than 30 years’ experience of operational and general administration. Besides various senior management and Administrative trainings he also holds Director Ship certification from IBA Karachi.
Mr. Muhammad Izqar Khan presently posted as Executive Director, State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan. He joined State Life in 1995. He has vast professional experience in Senior Management positions in diversified fields such as Administration, Marketing, Audit & Accounts, Investment, Real Estate and Financial matters. He possesses degrees acquired from UK London i.e., MBA, ACMA & ACEA. Before joining State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan he had served in British Telecom (BT) from June 1990 till May 1993. He has also served on the Boards of 786 Investments (formerly Dawood Capital Investment Company), Mirpur Khas Sugar Mills, Alpha Insurance Company Limited and Pakistan Cables Limited and also CEO of Abdullah Haroon Properties Private Limited and Lackie Road Properties Private Limited.
Mr. Ali Saleem Rana is serving as Company Secretary of Pak Datacom Limited (PDL) since December 22, 2021. Earlier, he has held the same position from December 2015 to December 2016. He is also the Secretary of Procurement Committee and Nomination Committee of PDL.
He has a colossal association with PDL which dates back to Sep 2002, when joined the Company as Manager (Internal Audit) after relinquishing his job at Telecom Foundation as Assistant Manager Finance. Prior to this he has worked as Assistant Manager Credit at FedEx Pakistan in their Karachi Head Office. Overall he has rich integrated working experience of 25 years. He has extensive hands on experience in the Admin, HR and Store departments of PDL, while he has also been assigned the task to handle legal matters as well.
He did his Master’s in Business Administration with a Finance major as a pioneer of SZABIST in 1997. He has also obtained Certificate of Director Education from Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG) in Nov 2012 successfully fulfilling the requirements of Corporate Governance Leadership Skills (CGLS).
